Best buys are available all year round. Follow the seasons to get the best bang for your buck. Here are the best items to buy in September:
Best Buys #1 – Bicycles
With the weather starting to cool in the northern hemisphere, September is a great time to get yourself a best buy on a new bike (and all of your bike accessories). If you live in the southern hemisphere, this is a bad time to buy a new bike (unless you really want one).
Best Buys #2 – Computers
Best buys for computers tend to come up in September (after the back to school rush). Watch computer prices carefully – you will likely find some great prices as retailers try to clear out stock to make room for new models (just in time for Christmas).
Best Buys #3 – Digital Cameras
I’m not really sure why digital camera prices tend to go down in September, but they do. September is a great month to get a best buy on a digital camera. I have rated the Kodak C195 EasyShare Camera as a great value. In the subcompact model area, Consumer Reports rates the Casio Exilim EX-H5, the Canon Powershot A490, and the Canon Powershot A495 as Best Buys. Check out my Top Rated Products Store (Click this link for the US or this link for Canada) to find out more or to order online.
Best Buys #4 – BBQs
Yes, Gas Grills (BBQs) continue to be on sale from starting in August (check out my best buys for August here). This is the time to get a best buy on a new BBQ.
Your selection might be a bit slimmer if you have held off until September instead of buying in August, but your savings could also be greater.
I have reviewed the Grill Mate 3400 BTU BBQ and do not recommend it. Read my full review for all the details. There are lots of other good BBQs out there, however, so don’t be discouraged.
Best Buys #5 – Lawn Mowers
I love a hand pushed reel mower. It keeps me in shape and I think they do a great job. I have reviewed the Yardworks 14 inch reel mower and have rated it a best buy. Read my full review here.
Whether you prefer a reel mower or an electric mower or a gas mower, September is the month to get a best buy. Watch prices come tumbling down as the month progresses.
While you’re at it, why not use this time of year to seed your lawn with white clover for a huge range of benefits and savings?
Best Buys #6 – Small Consumer Electronics
It’s a slow time of year for retailers of MP3 players, DVD and Blu-Ray players, etc. The back to school shopping season has ended and it’s not quite Christmas. Lots of best buys can be found on small consumer electronics in September. Watch for sales.
Best buys are available all year round. Use the seasonality of specific items to your advantage in choosing when to buy. You’ll get the very same items that you need or want at terrific savings. In addition, you’ll also have a brand new present to open at the start of each new season in the following year.
