My ten month old daughter has found a new toy that she loves much more than any of the fancy $20 and $30 dollar ones that I have bought her so far. It makes noise, has various textures on it, and fits just right into her little hands. She laughs and screams with delight almost continuously as she plays with it. What is it, you ask?
AN EMPTY PLASTIC WATER BOTTLE! This amazing invention not only holds bottled water, but also delights my daughter to no end. Fisher-Price will no doubt come up with an upscale $15.00 version of the crumpled water bottle after reading this post, but I can assure you that any old plastic bottle will probably do.
Here’s how you can make your own bottle toy:
1) Buy a bottle of water
2) Drink the water inside
3) Give the empty bottle to your baby (after removing the cap – which is a potential choking hazard!)
That’s all there is to it. Get your camcorder ready to record squeals of delight and laughter! Check back soon. I have many more frugal living ideas coming your way. Another idea brought to you by froogalism.com.
