Disposable baby wipes are really expensive and extremely wasteful. I am beginning to see how expensive everything baby related is and I have turned my attention to how to do more with less with my new baby girl. How can a frugal living parent get more for their money?
At our prenatal classes, we were told by our instructor that olive oil is the best thing to use for baby massage. It is good because it is non-toxic and because it is readily absorbed into the skin. With this in mind, I thought about simply adding a bit of olive oil to water in a spray bottle. This spray could then be sprayed on to a baby washcloth and used to wipe the baby clean. So far, so good; no diaper rash and her skin feels really smooth. The olive oil also seems to help with removing sticky stuff. For travel, just pre-spray a few washcloths and seal them in a baggie to go. All in all, it seems to work really well.
